Kick-Off Meeting for the Erasmus+ Project “Cultural Mediators for the Postal Sector”

The National Centre for Social Research (ΕΚΚΕ) has organized on 13/12/2018 the Kick-Off Meeting for the Erasmus+ Project “Cultural Mediators for the Postal Sector”. The project has been recently awarded by the IKY Foundation and consists of eight partners from three countries (Greece, Romania, and Belgium), whereas EKKE is the lead partner of the consortium.

The project duration is 24 months 01/09/2018 until 31/08/2020 and its scope is:

A) The provision of specialised training to post employees, to be able to deliver quality services in a multicultural social environment. 

B) The promotion of social inclusion for immigrants and third-country nationals, through advanced interaction with post employees, postal organizations, and postal services in the host country/ country of residence and Europe.

The coordination of the Kick-Off meeting and of the discussion, which followed during the meeting’s various sessions, has been made by Dr. Dionyssis Balourdos who’s the project’s Project Manager on behalf of EKKE. During the meeting, presentations were made by Professor Nicolas Demertzis on behalf of EKKE, Mr. Antonino Sribellito of behalf of PostEurop, Mrs. Xenia Thoma and Afroditi Riga on behalf of Hellenic Post S.A., Mrs. Margarita Pitti and Mr. Aris Maragkakis on behalf of KEK-ELTA, Mr. Ailin Zamfiroiu on behalf of ICI-Bucharest, Professor Giorgos Pierrakos on behalf of EKKE and by Mrs. Eleni Damianou on behalf of EEO Group.

All project partners agreed on the organizational and operational aspects of the project such as the formation of the Steering Committee and the Quality board, as well as, the assumed role and responsibilities per partner on the implementation of deliverables and project activities.
